the story
Wicked has always been pure magic to me, so bringing this world to life was more than just a project, it was a deeply personal passion. This was my chance to weave together everything I’ve learned throughout my career: the artistry, the technical craft, the storytelling, and the obsessive attention to detail. Every skill I’ve picked up found its place in this piece.I had the incredible opportunity to design and build Galinda and Elphaba’s dorm room from the ground up, channeling both Broadway charm and cinematic richness.
Every object in the set was modeled by hand and meticulously painted to feel authentic, textured, and alive. From the sparkle of a perfume bottle to the folds in the bed sheets, no detail was too small. I poured myself into creating an environment that feels lived-in and visually enchanting, while staying true to the tone and atmosphere of the story we all know and love. Lighting was my favorite puzzle to solve. It needed to serve the wide, theatrical isometric shot and the intimate cinematic closeups with equal strength. I focused on recreating the soft, magical window light from the film, giving the room a natural glow while shaping key moments of drama and focus throughout. It was all about balance, making the space feel real and grounded, yet still bursting with wonder.
And for the true fans, I couldn’t resist hiding dozens of easter eggs throughout the scene. Every corner holds a little surprise, whether you’re a diehard Broadway fan or a movie lover. This was more than just a showcase of technical skill. It was a love letter to storytelling, and a reminder of why I do what I do.
